Thomas E. Baker
Jun 6, 1938 — Sep 22, 2025
In Loving Memory of
Thomas Elroy Baker, age 87, passed away on September 22, 2025.
Tom was born on June 6, 1938, in Warrensburg, NY to William Carl Baker and Rita Vera Pasco Baker.
Tom was the oldest of 8 children, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Tom comes from a long line of woodsmen, as his great-grandfather, grandfather, and father were all loggers, as is his son.
At age 17, Tom started his own logging & trucking business & made his livelihood in the Adirondack mountains for many years.
Tom is survived by his 3 children, Michael, Rebecca, and Christine, 5 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
At age 40, Tom moved to Florida where he worked as an equipment operator and started his own earthwork business & running draglines. He was always involved in the horse community & worked on several ranches over the years.
At age 50, Tom met Patty Perry in Plant City, and they had a wonderful life together for the next 32 years until her passing in 2019.
At age 76, Tom and Patty moved to the Star 4 Ranch where they lived, and Tom worked operating various ranch equipment on a daily basis until his passing.
Tom was an amazing friend and volunteer to the St. Johns Horse community, always there to lend a hand for any task. He will be sorely missed by so many.
A cremation will take place, and his remains will go back to the Adirondack mountains.
