Barbara Whitneck
Oct 3, 1934 — Jun 22, 2026
The family of Barbara Whitneck is saddened to announce her passing on June 22, 2026. Daughter of the late Frank and Hazel Lauzon, she was born in Sheldon Springs, VT, on October 3, 1934. She lived in Connecticut for many years before retiring to Florida. Barbara had many friends and family members and was always the life of the party. Those who know Barbara will remember her loud, boisterous laugh, especially while watching the Big Red Dog (Clifford).
Barbara loved crafting, doing puzzles, and watching the Game Show Network. She made sure that all of her loved ones had a gemstone tree or Angel. She would never pass up the chance to hug someone and tell them she loved them.
After her retirement, you could always find Barbara volunteering, dancing, or singing karaoke at the Moose Lodge. Barbara served as Past Senior Regent and was a member of the College of Regents of Women of the Moose. Barbara worked really hard and attained the status of Life Member of WOTM, which she was most proud. Now let's talk BINGO. She loved to play and volunteer. She was always very lucky and loved to give her winnings away each week. She would play every day if she could, sipping away on her mango smoothie.
Her family will always remember the late-night competitive card games of Hand and Foot. Her family will continue the traditions she started. We will always remember how excited she got when she saw her sister, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and goddaughter. She will be greatly missed by her sister Susan Mahon, who was her partner and crime and best friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 19th from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Holiday Park Community Center
