James Howard Johnson

James Howard Johnson, Jr., born January 19, 1938. He passed away on August 21, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. Jim, the son of Dr. J. Howard Johnson and Margaret Leitz Johnson, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and grew up in the suburb of Whitefish Bay, attending Whitefish Bay High School, where he excelled in swimming, football, and track. He attended the University of Miami in Florida on a football scholarship. 

After college, Jim served as a Supply Officer in the U.S. Army in South Korea. Following his Army service, Jim worked as a Stock Analyst and later for the State of Pennsylvania, living in Marion, Pa, and other Pennsylvania cities, before moving to Palm Bay, Florida.

Jim is survived by his wife Nancy, son Edmund Grey and their three grandchildren, Nancy, Hugh, and William, and his sister, Barbara Johnson Middendorf. 

Jim was an outstanding athlete, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. Throughout his life, Jim delighted in numerous competitive sports, including golf, and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jim will have a burial with honors on September 1, 2026, at 1:30 P.M. at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US Highway 1, Mims, Florida 32754.
