While holding her daughter’s hand, Lynn Holden (77) passed away on June 14, 2026, at her home in Palm Bay, Florida, in the company of her dear friend Faye Haas.
She was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, to Pauline and William T. Holden on September 19, 1948. The family moved to Pennsylvania, eventually settling in Telford in Montgomery County. Lynn attended Souderton Area High School, where she served as captain of the school’s first flag team. She graduated from Temple University in 1967 with an associate degree in horticulture. Throughout her life, she enjoyed designing gardens, making unique jewelry, and taking on challenging sewing projects.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosa Sophia Godshall-Holden of Palm Bay, Florida; her brother, Robert Holden of Norfolk, Virginia; niece Sarah Highlen and her husband Jeffrey of Grand Junction, Colorado; niece Setel Holden-Villars of Tracy, California; nephew Carlos Holden-Villars of Washington, D.C.; cousins Howie Umland and Josh Umland of Perkasie, Pennsylvania; Charles Umland and his wife Diane of Quakertown, Pennsylvania; Darryl Umland and his wife Barbara of Somerset, Massachusetts; Suzanne (Umland) Barber and her husband, Andrew, and Maurice Cote and Thea June Cote of Dighton, Massachusetts; and Bob Umland and his wife Clarion of Champaign, Illinois. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Sunshine.
She was predeceased by her son, Miles Dylan Godshall-Holden, August 22, 2015, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her mother, Pauline (Holden) Stork, née Surridge, April 14, 2021, of Norfolk, Virginia; and her cousins Bruce Umland, March 6, 2014, of Valley Center, California; and Gregg Umland, November 25, 2016, of Palm Bay, Florida. “The bee emerging from deep within the peony departs reluctantly.” – Matsuo Bashō
