Randall "Randy" Romine

Jul 10, 1951 — Aug 26, 2026

Randall “Randy” Romine passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 75, leaving behind a lifetime of good memories, plenty of stories, and more than a few sayings that his family and friends will undoubtedly repeat for years to come.

Randy was a dedicated father, brother, Papa, and friend. He was born and raised in Oklahoma, a place that always remained close to his heart and where he continued to have many beloved family members and lifelong friends. During middle school, Randy and his family relocated to Merritt Island, Florida, when his father took a job at Kennedy Space Center.

Randy graduated from Merritt Island High School and went on to build a long career as a crane operator at Kennedy Space Center. He was incredibly proud of his work, the crew he worked alongside, and knowing that he played a part in America’s space program. As the Space Shuttle Program came to an end, Randy retired and began a new chapter that gave him more time for his grandchildren, family, friends, riding his Harley, and the many projects he always seemed to have underway.

There was always something to fix, somewhere to go, someone to meet for coffee, or somebody who needed a hand. He became known as the guy you called when you needed help, the guy with the Boxer—or sometimes Boxers—Santa’s helper, and the guy who was pretty much always up to something.

For someone who liked to stay busy, Randy also appreciated the simple things. Sitting on the back porch, petting his dog, drinking a cup of coffee—which was an all-day beverage —and “shooting the breeze,” as he would say, with family, friends, and neighbors.

His family is grateful for all the good times, the laughter, the stories, the lessons, and the unforgettable sayings he gave us. We’ll miss him and his stubbornness because it was simply part of the man we loved.

Randy is lovingly remembered by his son, Chris Romine; daughter, Jennifer Stites (Michael); sister, Rene LaMarr (Rob); grandchildren, Garrett, Emily, and Bryce; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, friends, and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bob” & Gladys; brother, Gary; and Sister, Rebecca.

Randy leaves us knowing that he lived a good life—his way.

So, in Randy’s honor, pour yourself a cup of coffee, sit on the back porch for a while, pet the dog, help somebody who needs a hand, and take a little extra time to shoot the breeze.

We love you, Dad/ Randy. Thanks for the laughs, the memories, and a life well lived.

To honor his memory, the family held a private ceremony.
