Troy Lee Collins 1979–2026

Troy Lee Collins, of Palm Bay, Florida, peacefully entered the Lord’s Kingdom on September 21, 2026, with his beloved Barb (Boyer) by his side at Hospice House in Rockledge, Florida.

Born in Ronceverte, West Virginia, in 1979, Troy was a proud West Virginian who carried his love for his home state wherever life took him. He became a devoted WVU Mountaineer football fanatic and cherished attending college football games with his dear friends, Chris and Jeff, who were like brothers to him. Some of his happiest memories were made surrounded by friends, family, and the excitement of Mountaineer football.
Troy was also blessed to have a very special uncle, Woody Wilson, who played an important role in his life. Woody was a role model, mentor, and source of guidance throughout Troy’s life. Troy owed him a deep debt of gratitude for the love, wisdom, and support he provided over the years. Woody’s influence on Troy’s life will always be remembered and cherished.

Troy felt a deep calling to serve his country and joined the United States Army in 2002. He proudly served with the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. During his military career, he served on deployments in Iraq, including Baghdad and Ramadi. He later became an Army Recruiter stationed in Cressona, Pennsylvania, before continuing his service at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as a Special Forces Recruiter.
In 2014, Troy left military life and moved to the Sunshine State of Florida, where he began a new chapter of his life with his beloved Barb. Together, Troy and Barb enjoyed making memories and spending time with family. They attended Miami Dolphins games with Patrick, Barb’s son, and FSU games with Carrie, Barb’s daughter. Troy treasured the time he shared with Barb, Patrick, Carrie, and the people who became such an important part of his life.

Troy had a short but well-lived life. He had a strong spirit, a generous heart, and a genuine love for the people who surrounded him. Those who knew Troy loved him, and he touched the lives of many through his friendship, loyalty, humor, and love. His absence will leave an emptiness in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Troy was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Wilson, in 1992; his aunt, Gail Dunbar, in 2000; his grandparents, Russell Collins, in 2015, and Mary Collins, in 2018; his stepfather, Henry “Butch” Honaker, in 2021; and his mother, Carol Jewel Collins, in 2026.

He is survived by his beloved Barb (Boyer); his brother, Jamie Collins of Ronceverte, West Virginia; his special uncle, Woody Wilson; his aunt, Vicky Dunbar; and his extended family and many dear friends, including Chris, Jeff, and Josh, who held a special place in his life. He will also be lovingly remembered by Patrick and Carrie, Barb’s children, with whom he shared many special family memories.

Troy’s time on earth may have been too short, but it was filled with service, friendship, family, love, and memories that will last forever. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, free from pain, and resting in the loving arms of the Lord.

Until we meet again, Troy. You will forever be loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
