James Robert Cheal, 79, resident of Titusville, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, after a sudden illness. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne R Cheal and Doris M Cheal, in 1993. He leaves behind an aunt and many cousins who will miss his infectious laugh and his interesting perspectives on life. He will be remembered for his love of life, whether it be fast cars, exciting adventures, or inventing new ideas for traveling. He leaves behind a legacy of adventure, kindness, and love for his family and friends and for his fellow members of the Melbourne Baha’i Community.

Jim studied at George Mason University. He was an outstanding freelance photojournalist who also worked for Time, Inc. (1974-1988). He was most recently a computer and smartphone instructor at North Brevard Senior Center. He led a life defined by dedication to those he loved and a commitment to the values he held dear. He believed in the oneness of humanity, the equality of men and women, and the oneness of God. He brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him. Whether through his work, friendships, or family relationships, he touched many lives and created lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Funeral arrangements are by Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care in Rockledge, Florida. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 31, 2026, at Riverview Memorial Cemetery, 3751 N. Cocoa Blvd, FL 32926,
