Barbara Talbott

Barbara went home to be with Jesus on June 5, 2026, after a brief illness. She was 87 . Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Elmer William Howell and Marjory Ellen (Bishop) Howell.

Barbara was born on June 19, 1938 in Buffalo, NY and grew up in Stamford, CT. She was a graduate of Stamford High School (1956) and Lasell University (Newton, MA) (1959).

Barbara spent three years in Germany while her husband served in the US Army.

Upon returning to Stamford, she was a member of Turn of River Presbyterian church where she served as a ruling Elder and Deacon. She formed and was the director of the TORCH Nursery School. Barbara was also a member of the Stamford Junior Women’s Club.

In 1994 she moved to Seminole, FL and in 1998 became a member of Oakhurst United Methodist Church. There, she was a member of United Methodist Women, volunteered in the church thrift shop and started an after-school program for Middle School students. She also coordinated and supervised the preparation and serving of dinners for several fundraising events.

In 2010 Barbara became a founding member of Connect2Christ Church serving as Fellowship and Congregational Care Chairs and a member of the Missions and crafting teams until her death

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Peter, two daughters Susan Talbott (Largo, FL) and Elizabeth Talbott (Largo, FL), four grandchildren; Lauren Higgs (Cameron), Kristen Teets, Tyler Veneziano, Lindsay Veneziano, two great-grandchildren, a sister, Judy Stern (Greg) and a brother, David.

A service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held at Connect2Christ Church, 9398 Oakhurst Road, Seminole, FL at a date and time to be determined with Pastor Mary Haley officiating. Interment will be private at Bay Pines Military Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Connect2Christ Church.
