Gangadhararao Chapalamadugu

Dr. Gangadhararao Chapalamadugu, “CG", “Tata”, 79, living in St. Petersburg, FL passed away peacefully July 31, 2026 at St. Anthony’s Hospital after spending the day with his family at his bedside. Born and raised in Ramudupalem, India he attended medical college. A year before graduating, he married his wife Prameela with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. They moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1972 and pioneered the way for friends and family to the US, and he established his medical practice in Bradenton, FL in 1977.

Gangadhararao is survived by his wife Prameela Chapalamadugu; siblings Satyanarayana Chapalamadugu and his wife Mani, Koteswararao and his wife Vijaya, and Nageswararao and his wife Anupama; sons Rajeev Chapalamadugu and his wife Cathy, Sandeep Chapalamadugu Rao and his wife Nicole, Prateek Chapalamadugu and his wife Nancy; grandchildren Jayden, Kayla, Lena, Ella, Chloe, Caysen, and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

CG was a sports enthusiast and excelled at playing tennis. He was gifted with an ear for music and enjoyed singing songs and bhajans with his friends and family and would sing to his grandchildren. Dr. Chapalamadugu became a successful and caring pulmonary/critical care physician at Manatee Hospital serving the Bradenton community for over 30 years. CG was very spirited at social gatherings and loved to tell stories and make jokes. His melodic voice, opinions stated as fact, and charismatic, loving character will be missed by all who knew him.

Gangadhararao’s viewing and puja service will be held Thursday, August 6 at 10 am at the Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home 7820 38th Ave North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710.
