Mary Frances Dennis, aged 90, of Seminole, Florida, passed away on August 21, 2026.
Mary was born on December 28, 1935, in Washington, Pennsylvania; she was the third of four daughters to Stephen and Anna Zess. During her service in the US Air Force, Mary met her future husband, Richard. She chose to retire after the birth of their daughter, Veronica Ann and In 1972, the family relocated to Florida following Richard's retirement.
Mary was deeply involved in her community and family life. She served as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts, coached youth bowling, and actively participated in PTA and SAC, including serving as band boosters' treasurer at schools attended by her daughter. Her devotion extended to her faith, as she took communion to nursing home residents and was a committed member of the St. Matthews Women’s Ministry. Mary also enjoyed attending baseball games to cheer on the Rays and Pirates, and she cherished her 17 cruises across the Caribbean.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Dennis; her sisters, Dorothy Ann Ritz and Evelyn Marie Ebitz; and her stepson, Richard Dennis, Jr. She leaves behind her daughter, Veronica Ann Dennis; her sister, Barbara Jean Dearolph; her granddaughter from her stepson, Laura Anne Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 10:30 am to 11:00 am on August 27, 2026, followed by a mass at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 9111 90th Ave N, Largo, FL 33777, with a reception thereafter.
