Ramona Weise

Oct 9, 1939 — Sep 30, 2026

Ramona Ann “Mona” Weise passed away peacefully at The Vineyard Assisted Living Facility in Largo, Florida, on September 30, 2026, at the age of 86. She was just nine days shy of her 87th birthday.

Mona was born on October 9, 1939, in St. Albans, Vermont, to William and Eva Ryan. She graduated from Holy Angels High School in St. Albans and moved to Massachusetts shortly afterward, where she met Bruce while he was serving in the United States Navy.

Mona and Bruce were married on January 7, 1961, beginning a marriage that would span 68 years. They moved to New York City, where Mona worked as a hairdresser while Bruce began his career with the NYPD. While Bruce worked for the NYPD for more than 20 years, Mona devoted herself to creating a loving home and raising their children. She took great pride in her family and in the home they built together.

In 1982, Mona and Bruce moved to the St. Petersburg area to be closer to his mother. There, Mona continued to make a beautiful life centered around family, friends, gardening, and helping others.

Mona was easy going, kind, generous, and, as those who knew her would say, “quite a woman.” She simply could not help people enough. She had a soft spot for charities and was always willing to give, whether it was through a donation, a compliment, words of encouragement, or a helping hand. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel valued and cared for.

She loved to travel and shared many wonderful adventures with Bruce. Together, they traveled around the country twice in their motorhome, stopping to enjoy the every national park along the way. Mona especially loved the mountains of the West. One of her favorite memories was watching the hot air balloon festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mona and Bruce grew up together in every sense of the word. Through 68 years of marriage, they shared a lifetime of memories, adventures, family milestones, and love. Mona is survived by her beloved husband, Bruce. and their two sons, Mark Weise, his wife, Kelly and Kurt Weise and his wife Lori.

Mona had a way of lighting up a room simply by being in it. Her kindness and generosity touched people everywhere she went. She was deeply loved by her family, friends, and by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Even the nursing staff who cared for her were heartbroken when they learned of her passing, grieving her as they would a member of their own family.

Mona leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and devotion to family. She will be remembered for the warmth she brought into every room, the encouragement she freely gave, the people she helped, and the countless lives she made a little brighter.

She was, and always will be, deeply loved.

Ramona will be laid to rest at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg Florida on what would have been her 87th birthday.
