Randall Carmella
Sep 14, 1953 — Apr 11, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Randy Carmella, affectionately called Cheech by many friends and his Grandchildren, who left us on April 11, 2026 at age 72 after a long battle with dementia. He was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on September 14th, 1953 to Paul and Mary Carmella. Randy was a kind and loving individual who loved life, his family, music, cats, gardening, and all sports teams from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Randy was always there to lend a helping hand to all and had such a positive attitude about everything. Every morning, he would play “It’s a Beautiful Morning” by the Rascals.
His life journey took him many places, Pennsylvania, his long career with NCR Corporation in Cambridge, Ohio and Atlanta, Georgia, and finally retirement in St. Petersburg, Florida. He made lifelong friends all along the way.
He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Carmella and Mary Louise Mars, his sister Valerie Mehalic and sister Pattie Marie Carmella.
Randy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vickie, sons Scott and Aaron, Grandchildren Alex and Rosie, Sisters Jennifer Oblich, Faith Duchene, Brothers Joseph Walley, Paul Carmella, Matthew Carmella and Damian Carmella.
A service will be held in DuBois, Pennsylvania at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association – Florida Gulf Coast Chapter or plant some Forget-me-not flowers, the flower represents the desire to not lose touch with those suffering from cognitive decline and serves as a symbol of resilience.
