Valerie Rogers Jones

Valerie spent her 64 years in the St. Petersburg and Clearwater area. She attended Shorecrest Preparatory School, St. Petersburg High School, and Florida State University. Throughout her life, Valerie combined a strong work ethic with a genuine interest in helping others succeed. She founded Bay Area Search in the 1980s and built a respected recruiting business before continuing her career with PBSJ and later Arcadis. Her warmth, sense of humor, and gift for connecting with people touched the lives of many friends, colleagues, and family members. Valerie will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.

Even as a young girl, and like her father, Roger, Valerie had an innate appreciation for style and presentation. Valerie seemed destined to stand out. She had a natural elegance, a polished sense of style, and a confidence beyond her years. Her dark bob haircut, impeccable fashion sense, and poised demeanor reflected qualities that would remain with her throughout her life. Valerie carried herself with grace and sophistication, yet she was always devoted to those she loved, especially her mother Alice Rogers and her son Brandon Jones, both of whom survive her.

She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her and whose lives she touched.
