Alfreda O. Degheri

May 22, 1931 — May 14, 2015

Alfreda Ostrowski Degheri died peacefully at home on May 14, 2015. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Ramon (Ray) L., two children, Ramon J. (Heidi) and Adrienne (Dan). She is the beloved grandmother of Natalie Degheri. She was the daughter of the late Victor and Jennie Ostrowski and sister to Carolyn (Tom) and late brothers, Victor, and John. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Alfreda was born May 22, 1931 and raised in Baltimore, MD as part of the Ostrowski Polish Kielbasa legacy. There, she met and married Ray and built a beautiful life in Allendale, NJ. In 1984, they moved to Hilton Head Island, SC to pursue their passion project - making and selling chocolate for 30 years. Generations of residents and visitors knew her as "the lady who makes the chocolate alligators". Travel, music, dancing with Ray, and theater were a few of Alfreda's favorite things. She was known for her strong faith in God, beautiful needlepoint and sewing creations, as well as her fondness for photographing her family. Alfreda fiercely loved and protected her family and friends, a practice she will continue to do as our loving Guardian Angel. A Memorial Service will be held at Bon Secours Place, St Petersburg, FL on a date TBD. A subsequent Funeral Mass and interment will be held in Baltimore, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alfredaʼs name may be made to Bon Secours Place, 10401 Roosevelt Blvd N, St Petersburg, FL (please note Alfreda Degheri on the donation).
