Dennis Raymond D'Amico
Jan 25, 1952 — Apr 16, 2015
Dennis Raymond D'Amico passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 16th, 2015. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 44 years, Jean Mancini D'Amico, and his father, Pasco D'Amico and wife Mary of Tarpon Springs. He will be sorely missed by his sons, James of St. Petersburg, Nicholas of Pinellas Park, and their wives Jonique and Jenna respectively. Dennis was the brother of Patricia Cohen of Trinity, Bruce of Holiday, and Patrick of Boston, uncle to Kristin Sapienza, Jennifer Tran, Rachel Mancini, Ryan Mancini and the very proud grandfather of Giada and Makai Dionigi. Dennis was preceded in death by his 7-year old son, Dennis, Jr., in the summer of 1979, and his mother, Dorothy, in the fall of 1999. An Army Veteran, entrepreneur and self-made man, Dennis followed his father into the ceramic tile contracting business at the young age of 16, eventually owning and operating his own successful company, Ceramic Tile & Marble, for more than 35 years. Always at peace on the water, two of Dennis' greatest loves were boating and fishing. He holds the World Record for the largest Jolt-head Porgy ever boated.
Dennis was also an accomplished artist who created spectacular marble and stone sea life sculptures and unique jewelry made from natural elements. Dennis also spent time providing support to fellow servicemen at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital. Dennis was a loyal friend to many and had an innate ability to infuse laughter into almost any situation. We will remember his spirit all the days of our lives. We love and miss you dearly.
