Listen to Obituary

Douglas Carlton Stribling, known to many as Doug, passed away on September 23, 2026, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born on February 23, 1951, in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Doug built a life marked by dedication to his work and love for the people closest to him. He graduated from Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he met his wife, Barbara. They were high school sweethearts, and their bond became the foundation of a marriage that lasted 44 years. After high school, he went on to trade school for welding and fabrication, beginning a career that reflected both skill and commitment. For more than 50 years, Doug worked as a welder and fabricator. Outside of work, he loved nothing more than his Harley and going for rides on it; a passion that brought him joy and freedom.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Stribling, and by his parents, Alice and Willis Stribling.

He is survived by his brother, Robert Stribling, and his sister, Betty Panepinto, both of Florida. He is also survived by his daughter, Kristen Stribling, and by his granddaughter, Emily Atwell of Florida. He will be remembered with love by his family and by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Anderson McQueen Funeral Homes, 2201 Dr. M.L.K. Jr St N, St. Petersburg, Florida 33704. A reception will follow there from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
