Eugene M. Kimura

Kimura, Eugene M. 92, of St. Petersburg, passed Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Patrick Manor. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he moved here in 1923. He graduated from St. Petersburg High School, class of 1940. He was a US Army veteran having served in the 100th Battalion 442nd Regimental Combat Team earning three Bronze Stars and was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal on Nov. 2, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fumio "Harry" and Hatsu Kimura; brothers, Earl S. and Herbert T. Kimura. He is survived by his daughter, Lorrie Kimura; brother, Robert Kimura and sisters, Marion Osakada and Flora Kawabata. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Suncoast Hospice.
