Genevieve "Jenny" Culberson

Culberson, Genevieve “Jenny” of St. Petersburg passed away peacefully on Sept. 21, 2026, at the Masonic Home of Florida. Born and raised in Greenup, Kentucky, Jenny later moved with her family to Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from Capital University, she began her career as a grade school teacher. In Columbus, she met and fell in love with Dr. Jerry D. Culberson, whom she married. The couple moved to St. Petersburg in 1959, and Jenny made the city her home for the rest of her life. Jenny devoted herself to raising their two boys and creating a warm, loving home. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross for 15 years and proudly gave her time and energy in support of church projects. An avid reader and faithful participant in Bible study groups throughout her life, she enjoyed books ranging from mysteries to works of faith that deepened her understanding of the world around her. Jenny was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Jerry D. Culberson, and her sister, Anne Walsh. She is survived by her sister, Naomi Wildermuth; her two sons, James Brian Culberson (Joy) and John Christopher Culberson (Mary Kay); and her grandchildren, Riley K. Culberson, Rachael C. Culberson, Lily Joy Culberson, and Emmy B. Culberson. Jenny’s entombment service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. on Oct. 2, 2026. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. Arrangements are through Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Jr. Street.
