Lovett, Gordon D., 85, of St. Petersburg, died Monday March 21, 2005 at Kindred Hospital, St. Petersburg. Born in Bainbridge, Georgia, he came here in 1956 while serving in the Coast Guard. He proudly served his country for 22 years in the U.S. Coast Guard retiring as a Chief Petty Officer and later worked 20 years with the St. Petersburg Police Department retiring in 1985. He was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian, son Ronald J., Niskayuna, NY, daughter, Joan C. Cullum, St. Petersburg, two sisters, Clyde Ingram, Bainbridge, GA and Bennie Stokes, Thomasville, GA, a granddaughter, Marilyn Maneekrua, St. Petersburg, three grandsons, Troy Cullum and Jim Lovett both of St. Petersburg and Jason Lovett, Rome, NY and four great-grandchildren.
