James Michael Lyons

Lyons, James Michael “Jim”, 95, of St. Petersburg passed away May 29, 2026 peacefully at his home surrounded by family. Born and raised in St. Louis Missouri, he graduated from Ritenour High School and entered the Air Force. He served for four years and even spent time serving at MacDill AFB. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Daniel Sr. and Rose Lyons, two brothers Daniel Lyons Jr and John Lyons, and one sister Ida Crites. James is survived by his daughter Linda Crosley and his son Daniel Lyons III; grandchildren Candra Wilson, Curtis Crosley, and Caitlin Crosley; and great-grandchildren Harper and Tyler Wilson. 

James was a go-getter, after retiring from 40+ years at Allstate selling insurance he started several businesses. He was a loyal member of Holy Family Parish and very proud of his Irish heritage. He was quick with compliments or a helping hand. He was a very good amateur artist and loved the outdoors. His good sense of humor and charming spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. 

James’s memorial service will be Friday June 26, 2026 at 5:30pm at Anderson McQueen funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
