John "Jack" Lins

May 4, 1939 — Jun 20, 2026

John August Lins, known as "Jack" to his friends, was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 4, 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Delores Lins and a brother Hank. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pat, whose partnership and companionship were the foundation of a life well lived. He was the loving father of 2 children: son John M. Lins (Sandy) and daughter, Lori Maldonado (Jaime). His 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren were particularly special to him.

Jack was a gentle soul who was always traveling. He and Pat took several river boat cruises in Europe, but his favorite trips were taking each of the grandchildren on their individual visits and their own special trips. He also enjoyed playing bridge, boating, golfing, and socializing with his many friends. Jack was also an active member of the Knights Of Columbus. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with Pat and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nothing brought Jack greater pride and happiness than his family.

Jack’s quiet strength, warm smile, generous heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A funeral mass will be held on July 13, 11:00 a.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church.

And one last thought, he always believed everything was better with chocolate.
