Lorence Steven Schwartz

Lorence S. Schwartz, also known as Lorey or Larry of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, passed away peacefully at Lakewood Ranch Hospice House on July 14th, 2026, at the age of 78. Lorence was born on July 17,1947 at Northside Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Paul and Belle (Farber) Schwartz.

He graduated in 1965 from Boardman High School. After high school he attended Youngstown State University where he became a member of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. He enlisted in the army reserves and served from 1968 to 1974. In 1977 he became responsible for the full operation of their family business, Youngstown Cabinets Works after the death of his father. Lorey believed the knowledge and skills he acquired at the family business helped him in his pursuit of future endeavors. In 1985, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia and began his career as a self-employed consultant specializing in supply chain management. During his free time, he enjoyed traveling and had several memorable experiences. He was a longtime member of St. Petersburg Vinoy and Lakewood Ranch country clubs where he loved playing tennis and pickle ball. He also volunteered at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg with his devoted therapy dog "Baby." Although he moved away from Ohio many years ago, he always remained a loyal Ohio State Buckeye's fan.

He is survived by a sister, Sandria Gallucci of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, several nephews, cousins and friends. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place in the Columbarium at the Rodef Sholom Chapel at Tod Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio. Material contributions may be made to one's charity of choice.
