Lynne Steiner
June 29, 1957 — September 18, 2025
Lynne (Peterson) Steiner, 68, of St Petersburg FL and Wolfeboro NH, passed away peacefully at home in St Petersburg on September 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born June 29, 1957 in Syracuse NY she was the daughter of Anthony and Mary Louise Peterson. Lynne graduated from Manchester (NH) Memorial High School, Rivier College and later in life earned her nursing degree and RN license through St Petersburg College.
Lynne lived her life with grace, love, loyalty and calm. With an impeccable eye for style, she loved fashion and curating beautiful homes where family and friends always gathered. Lynne could often be found walking her dog Van along the St. Pete waterfront, rowing her scull on Lake Winnipesaukee or skiing in Colorado. She enjoyed travel, especially to Italy, tennis and reading. Her greatest joy was being Grandmere and she treasured time spent with all six of her grandchildren.
Lynne was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Louise Peterson.
Family includes her husband of 25 years, Nelson Steiner; sons Matthew (Rachel) Batty and Ryan (Jennifer) Batty of St Petersburg FL; step-sons Nelson Steiner Jr of Santa Fe NM, Steven (Nancy) Steiner of Venice CA and Matthew (fiancée Idis Claxton) Steiner of Tampa FL; granddaughters Isa Bernal Steiner, Matokie, Otillia and Teresita de Cuba-Batty, Josephine Batty and grandson Brooks Batty; siblings Richard (Leslie) Peterson of Manchester NH, Robert Peterson of Westbrook ME and Lisa Hebert of St Petersburg FL; nieces Nicole Peterson and Layne Hebert and nephew Michael Peterson; her loving Golden Retriever, Van Morrison, along with many dear friends in Florida and New Hampshire.
Lynne’s passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by her. Although we may no longer physically see Lynne, she will remain deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
A funeral service will be held Monday, September 29, 11:00am at St Raphael Catholic Church in St Petersburg. A celebration of Lynne’s life will take place later that day on September 29 at 6:00pm at the Vinoy Golf Club, 600 Snell Isle Blvd NE, St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
