Ramona May Dame Simmons
Sep 29, 1934 — Jan 27, 2021
A loving companion and mother of five children passed away on January 27, 2021 at the age of 86. Ramona was born on September 29, 1934 in Hanover, Massachusetts to Harry and Lillian (Griffith).
One of the joys Ramona had in her life was dancing. Even on into her older age, she would find her way to the ballroom floor, preferably to the music of Elvis. In more than a literal sense, she waltzed through life. Every new acquaintance was a new dancing partner. Every struggle, a chance for ballet. Light on her toes, Ramona brought levity to those around her. She gave good lives to her children and animals in her care. She was a true friend, mother, and companion. While she cannot be replaced on this dance floor, the family she leaves behind will surely continue swaying their hips with Ramona having set the tempo.
A loving mother, a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. She left behind a legacy. Her life was filled with joy, love and happiness. Ramona Simmons will be missed by everyone who knew her and were honored to be a part of her life. She will live on forever in our memories. She will fly high forever with the angels, safe and whole once again.
Ramona is preceded by her parents, and her daughter, Diana. She is survived by her four children, Gary, Alan, Elena and Paul along with their own families. In lieu of flowers, the family would like all donations to be sent to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
