Richard V Gould

Gould, Richard V. (89) of Pinellas Park, Florida, formerly of Brown City Michigan, passed peacefully on September 28 surrounded by his loving family.

He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle to a large loving family.

Richard graduated from Brown City Community Schools in 1955 and then enlisted into the armed service. He served 4 years in the Air Force and was stationed in Niagara Falls NY the last few years he was in, where he met the love of his life Janet Barber.

Richard and Janet were married in 1958. In 1959 they welcomed their first child Holly, then in 1961 they welcomed LeeAnn and in 1962 the baby of the family Daniel (Dan).

Richard and Janet moved back to Brown City in Dec of 1959. Richard worked for the city of Brown City in the public works dept. for 10 years Then he worked at Buick in Flint for a little bit and then finally at the Sanilac County Road Commission on Peck Rd for 10 years.

Richard and Janet lived in Brown City till 1980 when they moved to Pinellas Park. Richard worked Marloff until his retirement in 2004. They have lived in and made great memories in their home for 46 years.

Richard and Janet loved to travel. They have taken several cruises and road trips across North America. Their favorite trip was their ‘Northern Tour’ to visit family in Northern Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York, Michigan, and Illinois.

Richard tried his hand at woodworking and was a proficient gardener and crossword enthusiast. But his great love was books. Richard was always reading, whether it was a novel, a magazine or the local newspaper.

Richard is survived in death by his devoted wife Janet (Barber), Children Holly (Charles) Caron, LeeAnn (James) Humphreys, and Daniel (Colleen) Gould. He also survived with 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Also, his sisters Bernice Perry and Wilma Bartle, Brother-in-law James G. Barber, Sister-in-law Gail Barber and many nieces and nephew.

Richard was proceeded in death by his parents. Vernon J. Gould and Susan Ann (Sutton) Gould, his younger brother Martin James (Jimmy) Gould and a grandson Keith Richard Gould.
