Butch was known for his quick wit and the ability to make people laugh no matter the situation. His sense of humor brought comfort, joy, and countless stories that those who knew him will continue to share for years to come. Whether around the dinner table, at the hunting camp, on the water, or visiting with friends and family while playing music or cooking food, Butch had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued.
A joyous musician, Butch was never far from a banjo and his love for it took him on many adventures in his life. Lots of friends and kindred spirits were discovered at the plethora of musical gatherings he attended. Singing and playing the banjo always put a smile on his face and, more often than not, a smile on those in earshot. An incredible cook, Butch’s name became synonymous with great food. He enjoyed cooking and preparing spectacular dishes for his family and friends. Even those with particular diets would find themselves breaking their regiments to sample the amazing creations which would emanate as enticing aromas from the kitchen. Butch was an avid outdoors man who found peace and happiness with nature. Hunting and fishing was more than a pastime to him, it was a passion that created lifelong friendships and treasured memories. He deeply appreciated the simple moments spent in nature and the camaraderie that came with it.
Above all else, Butch loved his family and friends fiercely. He was a giving man who never hesitated to help someone in need, offer encouragement, or lend a hand.
