William Spake

William C. Spake was born on March 30, 1932 in Garrett, Indiana. He was the first of four boys. He moved to Clearwater Beach in 1937 with his parents and brothers Ned, Robert (Bob), and Jim. They lived at the beach at the Seashell Hotel that his parents managed. It was next to Pier 60 and is ( NKA ) Hilton Clearwater Beach. William graduated from Clearwater High School. He was in the ARMY and was stationed in Germany and graduated from The University of Florida. William managed his fraternity house at UF and many hotels and dinner clubs in the Virgin Islands and Florida.  He met his wife in Clearwater Beach in 1957 and was married in 1958. Retired from GTE ( NKA Verizon) in 1987. He enjoyed retired life with Disney trips, Mullet fishing and cooking, collecting shells and finding change at the beach, over 45 cruises, yardwork, neighborhood handyman and time with family and grandkids. Survived by wife of 67 years Inez Spake, Daughter Patricia ( Mark ) Stahlgren, Son Patrick (Sandy) and grandkids, Dalton ( Zoe) Spake, Hunter ( Julia) Spake and Danielle Spake. Surviving brother Robert (Bob) Spake and nieces and nephews.    In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Autismspeaks.org   Services are being held on 1/9/26 Friday from 5pm-8pm at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home located at 7829 38 Ave North St Petersburg, Florida.
