Anna Mitchel
Feb 24, 1967 — Jul 15, 2016
Anna Linda Mitchel died July 15, 2016 after a long duel with cancer. Anna is a native of Tucson and was 49 when she died. Anna was the youngest of five children of Betty and Oliver C Mitchel. She is survived by her mother, Betty Jean, her older sisters Lorraine Kewer, Marie Mitchel, and Julie Wakefield; and, her older brother Fred Mitchel. She is also survived by nieces (a grand one too), nephews, cousins, an aunt and uncle and many friends whom she dearly cherished, even some four legged ones.
Anna attended Salpointe and Pueblo high schools as well as the University of Arizona. Anna lived in Las Vegas for many years before returning to Tucson to take care of her mother, Betty Jean.
She enjoyed playing cards, board games, the outdoors (including scuba diving), writing, movies, and drawing/painting. Some of her recently missed bucket list items included: winning the lottery (smile), going to Hawaii, playing in a poker tournament in Vegas, and breathing the fresh sea air on a beach in Mexico.
A memorial and celebration of Anna’s life will be held at a friend’s home in Tucson on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers Anna would have like donations made to the no-kill “HOPE Animal Shelter.
