Betty Lavonne Roush

Nov 13, 1936 — Mar 20, 2026

Betty LaVonne Carson Himebaugh Roush- a woman whose life was defined by steadfast faith, devotion to her family and spirit as wide and welcoming as the South Dakota plains where she was born. She went home to be with the lord on March 20th, 2026, she was 89 years old. Born on November 13th, 1936, in Isabel, South Dakota, to John Henry Carson and Thelma Leone Campman. Betty carried the quiet strength and deep faith of her Midwestern roots throughout her life. Though her heart always belonged to the Black Hills, most of her story unfolded in Tucson, Arizona, where she raised four daughters and filled her home with warmth, laughter and love - a reflection of her generous spirit and abiding trust in God.

Betty's hands were rarely still. Family and friends were blessed by her handcrafted quilts, crocheted blankets, and countless lovingly handmade gifts - lasting reminders of her devotion. Her home radiated the same care and beauty she poured into her work, each piece stitched with patience and love.

Betty's greatest joy was her family. As the proud matriarch of a large and loving clan, her influence is deeply woven into the lives of her children, grandchildren, and generations beyond. Her faith was the foundation of her life and the compass that guided her family.

A Life Remembered

"A mother's love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible."

Betty did the impossible everyday - nurturing a family that stayed close, loved deeply and lived with her faith at its center. Her stories, her laughter, and her prayers shaped the lives of all who knew her. Betty's journey is now complete. She rests in the eternal peace of her Heavenly Father, reunited with loved ones gone before her, and remembered always by those who were blessed to call her Mom, Grammie, and friend.
