Catherine "Carrie" Kirby
Mar 30, 1939 — Dec 19, 2021
Catherine (Carrie) Kirby, 82, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Carrie was born to William and Mary Beckett in County Galway, Ireland, on March 30, 1939, and was the oldest of five children. She moved to New York in 1959, where she met and married the love of her life, Pat. She lived a beautiful life of grace and generosity, and to know her was to love her.
Carrie is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Pat; three daughters, Trish Combithis (Greg), Mary Hammond (Peter), and Bridget Poirier (Tommy); and her three beloved grandchildren, Patrick, Hailey, and Ryan, all of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by her sisters Eveline McArdle of New York, Pauline Malone and Jackie Coughlan, and brother Bill Beckett (Pauline) of Galway, Ireland, and many loving nieces and nephews.
We take comfort in knowing that she is resting in peace, finally free of the Alzheimer’s disease she battled with such dignity and without complaint. The family will celebrate with a private service, per Carrie’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mayo Clinic.
