Clarence Preston “C.P.” Copperthite
Retired, Lt. Col., USAF
C.P. passed away from the effects of a stroke on February 2, 2016 at the age of 84. His family includes his wife of 55 years, Suzie; his daughter Crystal, her husband Larry, and their children Preston, Parker and Carina of Austin; his daughter Cindy, her son Chad, and her husband Shawn of Taiwan; and his son Craig of Tucson.
He retired from the USAF after serving honorably for 20 years as a B-47 and B-52 pilot. One of his fondest memories is of the friends with whom he served. He retired at the rank of Lt. Col. in 1972 at Castle AFB in Merced, CA.
After retiring from the Air Force, he began his second career with the City of Tucson. After 29 years there he retired as the Assistant City Clerk for Elections. He cherished the many friendships he made while serving the City of Tucson.
He enjoyed travel and family vacations. He was happiest being with his family and friends. He was loved by all and will be missed by all!
