Edward Dorgan
Jul 4, 1939 — Oct 17, 2012
Edward Dorgan,73, died October 17, 2012, at home in Tucson with his wife, Penny, and children Beau and Mary at his bedside.
Born the youngest of 3 sons on July 4, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio, where he was raised and educated and where he graduated from Ohio State University with a B.S degree in Agronomy and Animal Science. He farmed in Madison County, Ohio, where he was active in the community and established many lasting friendships.
He married his wife, Penny, in 1972, and they continued to live and work on the family farm in Ohio until their move to Tucson, Arizona, in 1986 with their two small children, then 7 and 10. In Tucson, Ed returned to school and earned an associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy in 1991, and began a second career, working in Tucson hospitals and home care for over 10 years.
In 2003 Ed and his wife moved to the small mountain town of Payson, Arizona, where he eventually retired to devote time to his many hobbies. He enjoyed reading extensively, fishing with his wife and friends, camping, feeding the birds and squirrels at his Payson home, and especially spending time with his family.
Ed was a man of deep faith and enjoyed reading his Bible. He demonstrated great compassion for those less fortunate than himself, through his acts of charity and love, and his volunteer work in the community. He will be sadly missed by the many friends and family who were blessed to have him in their lives.
