Jimmie Briscoe
Nov 22, 1948 — May 7, 2017
Jimmie Lon Briscoe, 68 passed away May 7, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona. Jimmie was born November 22, 1948 to Joseph Lon Briscoe Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Harnden) Briscoe in Frederick, Oklahoma. Jimmie grew up on the farm that his grandfather Briscoe homesteaded west of Frederick.
He graduated in 1967 from Weaver High School, west of Frederick. Jimmie served honorably in the United States Armed Forces. He graduated with a MBA from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford in 1978. He also obtained a Bachelor in Accounting and a minor in computer science. Jimmie loved to ski in the winter and take his buddies Runt and Lummie hiking.
Shelley, his daughter-in-law, said “Jimmie for sure loved his life doing what he loved. It's so hard to grasp that he just skied in 2015. And he never missed the hot air balloon festival in New Mexico each year. I am so happy he is not suffering anymore and is at peace with our amazing Lord. It's us here on earth that are hurting and selfish not wanting him to go.” His longtime friend Patty said: “I treasured his friendship, and I am so many things today because of him. He taught me to conquer the mountains!”
Jimmie is survived by sons Joe Francis Briscoe and wife Shelley, Tucson, Arizona, and David Briscoe in California; daughters Barbara Atkinson, Wichita, Kansas, and Katherine Guillory, Gainesville, Florida; sister Glenda Briscoe of Altus, OK; and special longtime friend Patty Brichford, Utah. 12 grandchildren: Bianca, Briana, Ella, Adalyn, Kimberly, Jessica, Jasmine, Mia, Jackson, Amanda, Brandon and Bradley. 5 great grandchildren: Stella, Allison, Bentley, Michael, and Jace.
Jimmie was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter Diane Massender; son Jimmie Briscoe, Jr.; and brother Joe Neal Briscoe.
