Julie Austin

Julie Anne Austin, 70, formerly of Alpena, Michigan passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona. Julie was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 11, 1941 to the late John L. and Marion (Hinkly) Payne. Julie worked as a hairdresser and salon owner for over 40 years before retiring. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003 and for the following years she fought (and won) a hard battle with the disease. She is survived by her husband, Donald; 2 children, Mimi (Bret) Halley and Steven (Courtney) Austin; 4 grandsons, Andrew Halley, Jacob Halley, Cameron Austin, and Corbin Austin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Paula Todd.
