June Lorraine Blass
Aug 28, 1934 — Feb 1, 2022
June Lorraine Blass was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She entered heaven on February 1, 2022, at the age of 87. Telling others about the love of Jesus was always on her lips. Her family was everything to her.
She was born to Randolph and Ethel Gregg on August 28, 1934. The youngest of nine children, June was definitely the baby of the family. She graduated valedictorian from Gaines High School in 1952. She married Russell Lowell Blass on June 28, 1953. Together, they raised three daughters: Cheryl, Lorraine and Tamar.
She loved baking special cakes and pies. She was a skilled seamstress, crafter and children’s choir director – even though she rarely sang on key. June retired from IBM in 1995.
Russell, her husband, preceded her to heaven in 1997. June is survived by her sister: Lois; her three daughters: Cheryl, Lorraine (Terrence) and Tamar (Peter); eight grandchildren: Cortney (Raymond), Craig, Keith, Tiffany (Tyson), Tory (Chantal), Traci (Aaron), Timothy and Nicholas; five great-grandchildren: Toben, Tynan, Preston, Peyton and Arianna; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 19th, at St. James United Methodist Church, 3255 N Campbell, Tucson, AZ 85719. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. James United Methodist in her name.
