Larry "Larry" Dunham
Mar 6, 1938 — Jan 21, 2015
Lawrence (Larry) Anthony Dunham,
born to Rita and Clifford Dunham in Cleveland, OH on March 6, 1938, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. He attended St. Edwards Catholic high school where he was a star varsity basketball player. He attended some college classes in Ohio before entering the workforce. He worked for the C&O Railway for many years while still being active in adult sports. During this time he married and started a family, and he also served in the National Guard. After leaving the C&O Railway Larry embarked on a journey of salesmanship that took him from Ohio to California and finally to Tucson, AZ. He sold many different products including satellite dishes, residential water softeners, cars and construction trenchers. Along the way Larry became an avid golfer. He remained interested in all sports, but the Arizona Wildcats were his passion. Larry ultimately became a financial investment advisor. After retiring in 2004, Larry stepped up his bridge game -- becoming a Diamond Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League. He was very interested in politics and world affairs.
He is survived by his wife, Trish Dunham; daughters Catherine Carrion (Mike), Cheryl Kelley, Caryn Kelley all of Orlando, FL, and Shawn Pendley Fichtner (Cornelius) of Silverado, CA; stepsons Brett Malone (Maria) of San Marcos, CA and Bryan Bartlett (Sable) of Carmel, ME; sister Ellen Supp (Joe) of Huron, OH; brother Chris Dunham (Debbie) of The Villages, FL; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sons Brian, Mark and Lance, brother Timothy, and parents Rita and Clifford Dunham. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Angel Valley Funeral Home, 2545 N Tucson Blvd, Tucson, AZ on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10 a.m. with reception to follow at the Arizona Inn, 2200 E Elm St, Tucson, AZ at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society are appreciated.
He will be sorely missed.
