Lloyd Staley
Jun 4, 1931 — Apr 2, 2017
Lloyd E. Staley 85 of Tucson, AZ. June 04, 1931 - April 02, 2017. Lloyd E. Staley recently passed away after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife Troy Lynn Staley of 35 years, 5 children (one deceased), 6 step-children, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He had 13 years of Marine service, including action in the Korean conflict and a purple heart for bravery. Then he had 26 years with the Department of Army, working with anything from small arms to 18 inch cannons. He was an expert Rifleman with both rifle and pistol. He was asked by the Warren Commission to test Lee Harvey Oswald's gun to see if it was possible to fire three shots in less than five seconds and hit the target. Out of the three attempts, only once was he able to shoot that gun under 5 seconds but he missed the second shot. He was a lifelong member of the NRA. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and anything to do with the safe use of firearms. Special thank you to Family Loving Kare and House of Hope for taking such good care of Lloyd in his final years. He will be missed.
Memorial service to be held at Angel Valley Funeral Home on Friday April 14th at 10 a.m.
