Lucy Luna Cisneros
August 29, 1931 — November 24, 2022
Lucy Cisneros, a lifelong Douglas, Arizona resident, passed peacefully on November 24, 2022 in Tucson, Arizona. Lucy was born on August 29th, 1931 in Douglas, AZ. Lucy was a single mother that raised three children and worked as a clerk at J.C. Penney for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church when she resided in Douglas.
Lucy had many loving family and friends that will miss her very much. Lucy became disabled and unable to care for herself and spent her last days at Park Senior Villas at La Canada in Tucson where she was well taken care of by their wonderful caregivers and employees.
Lucy was preceded in death by her mother Rosa Luna, her father Ramon Luna, and her siblings Joe Soqui, Oscar Luna, Mary Valenzuela, and Concha Lugo. She is survived by her children Richard (Suzanne) Cisneros from Phoenix, Sandi (Enrique) Gonzalez from Tucson, and Ann Cisneros from Tucson. Lucy also leaves her grandchildren Richard M. Cisneros, Edward Cisneros, LeeAnne (Thomas) Conteras from Phoenix, Ana Gonzalez, Enrique Gonzalez Jr. from Tucson, and her great-grandchildren Derek and Andy Contreras from Phoenix and Cole Helber from Tucson. Lucy also leaves her nieces, her sister Mary’s children, which she held deep affection and loved as her own, Norma (Mike) Molina and Cindy Valenzuela.
The family of Lucy Cisneros wishes to express our sincere appreciation for all the prayers, visits, and other acts of kindness shown during the time of her lengthy illness and final death. At Lucy’s request, no services will be held. However, masses will be said on her behalf at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Douglas and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in Tucson at a future date.
