Peter Farrell
Feb 11, 1997 — Sep 26, 2015
Peter James Farrell of Tucson, AZ died tragically in a car accident the morning of September 26, 2015. He was driving alone near Tanque Verde road, lost control of the car, and crashed into a light pole on his way to church.
Peter had so many gifts from God. He could bring people together, was the life of any group, and was wise beyond his 18 years. Many have commented on his bright mind, knowledge, and diverse collection of fun facts.
From cradle to grave, Peter embraced his faith. His second home was St. Pius X Catholic Church where he loved being involved. Peter was in religious education, children’s choir, VBS, HISkids, and youth group. Later he became a confirmation leader and Eucharistic minister, and was currently a leader for this year’s high school group. Once, Father Hairy told P.J.’s mom, “He really likes being here, doesn’t he?” Peter had a servant’s heart and was dedicated to helping others, putting them before himself. He ministered and sought out people in need everywhere he went. If someone looked sad or alone, he reached out and was a friend to them. Many of these precious young people have shared with his family how Peter literally saved their lives.
Peter attended Christ Community pre-school, Agua Caliente Elementary, and Emily Gray Junior High, graduated Salpointe Catholic High School with the class of 2015, and was currently attending Pima Community College. He had been active in La Mariposa swim team, Boy Scouts, Tanque Verde Little League and Soccer, skateboarding, band, drumline, lacrosse, cross country, and Irish step dancing as a National and World Qualifier. Peter was a retreatant in Salpointe Catholic Kairos 237 and led Kairos 244.
Peter was an unexpected gift from God and his birth family, and was taken from us just as unexpectedly. We were blessed with Peter for 18 years; he is now in a better place to watch over all of us. Peter had an old wise soul with a young adventurous spirit and he was a light to everyone he met. He was blessed to recently connect with his two birth brothers, William and Travis Miller, and his newborn nephew. They had a short time together and Peter cherished it.
Preceded in death by his namesakes Grandpa Peter Farrell and Grandpa James Walsh, Grandma Patricia Walsh and other cherished relatives. Survived by John and Sharon, his parents, sister, Kristi (Sis), Nana Francesca Moulinier, Aunt Maureen Walsh and Uncle Michael McCue, Aunt Patricia and Uncle Jeff Campbell, Uncle Jim Walsh, Aunt Kathleen Farrell. Cousins: David, Kristina, Creed, Caetlin, Cara, and multiple 2nd cousins he loved dearly from NY to Arizona. His godparents Kim McAloney, Monica and Kevin Young
Peter touched more people in 18 years than most people hope to in a lifetime. Our lives are forever changed by him and we mourn the loss of his precious soul.
There will be a visitation on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM in the Church and a Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM both in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1800 N Camino Pio Decimo, Tucson, Arizona 85715
