He considered TMC his family and made many long lasting friendships. He was a Brownie and Girl scout leader. The girls who are now grown up still giggle about their sleep over at the Reid Park zoo and being woken up during the night by a loud growling animal...just Phil snoring in his tent. Phil also was a proud Bountiful Basket and World Care volunteer Most of all he was an avid U of A football, Patriot and RedSox fan. Weekend family basketball games in the pool with his children and grandchildren was his favorite. Phil was a hummingbird whisperer and a gentle giant who had the best hugs. He leaves behind his loving wife Penelope, daughter Danielle (Eric) Shrofe, son Eliot. daughter in law Stacy(Jack)Anderson, Grandchildren Kaylee (Jacob) Cordova, Eric Shrofe, and Mary. His twin brother Sam (Carmen), brothers Bob and John, sisters Tina, Lisa and Cindy(Rick) Ashenbrener. Many nieces and nephews. Phil favorite saying was that he "was a middle child and likes attention" and there will be a memorial party when Covid-19 allows safe travel and gatherings. Phil's interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
