Charles R. Scarffe, D.D.S.
Charles Robert Scarffe, D.D.S. of Arvada, Colorado passed away on December 26, 2025 at the age of 79. Born on March 3, 1946 in San Francisco to Robert W. Scarffe and Dorothy Swanson Scarffe before going home to Colorado upon his father’s discharge from the Navy at the age of two months.
Chuck was married on September 5, 1970 to Nancy Splichal. He attended Lakewood High School (class of 1964), the University of New Mexico and graduated from the University of Missouri School of Dentistry (class of 1971). He practiced dentistry in Wheat Ridge and Arvada from 1971 to 2016, was a lifetime member of the Colorado Dental Association, a member of the American Dental Association and a member of the Academy of General Dentistry. Recognized for his work in 2008, Dr. Scarffe was honored as being one of Denver’s Top Dentists by 5280 Magazine five years in a row.
Chuck enjoyed the Colorado mountains and spent countless days in Rocky Mountain National Park. He was an avid reader but his favorites were classic science fiction and nautical stories. He was a weightlifter and he loved cars and road trips, making many visits with his family to the Oregon Coast and the country’s National Parks.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, his daughter Victoria Scarffe-Barrett and her husband Tony Barrett; his son David Scarffe; his granddaughters Abigail and Ada; his sister Jaye Whorton, her husband Robert and their children Patrick, Casey and Kendall. He was proceeded by his parents Robert and Dorothy Scarffe.
Services will be held on January 13, 2026 at the Aspen Mortuary Chapel in Arvada at 11:30 am. Donations can be made in his name to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or to the University of Colorado Golden Buffalo Marching Band.
