George Michael Patrick
Oct 20, 1951 — Oct 6, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of my beloved father George Patrick, who passed away peacefully on October 6th, at the age of 73. Just 2 weeks shy of his 74th birthday. We can all agree he was an amazing man who put his whole heart and soul into his family. Making us all of feel so loved, protected, and cherished. He was a constant source of strength, guidance, humor, and support. George stood by our side through everything and meant so much to all of us. Losing him has left a big hole in our lives and hearts. The stoic strength he showed until the end while he was fighting the cancer was a true testament to the man he was. He was so strong. We will be to, for him. George, known by family as Mick, was born to George and Margaret Patrick in Grand Island, Nebraska on October 20,1951. He was the third of five kids and the oldest brother. He spent 2 years in the service, had honorable discharge, was a sharpshooter, and Received a National Defense medal. Mick met the love of his life Susan at a St Patrick's Day dance. They married soon after and stayed happily married for 53 years. They had the kind of love everyone hopes for. They were best friends and stood by each other through everything. They have 2 children George (Mickey) and me, Kimberly (Kimmy). They have 7 grandchildren Ashley, Brittany, Star, Makayla, Alexandra, Brian and Desirea and Great Grandchildren William, Hazel, Elijah, Ezra and Winter. Mick worked as a route driver for Coke for 30 plus years. He loved traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family. Especially his grandkids. His family was everything to him. He loved Steven King books, music, westerns, and good movies. He was an amazing man who demonstrated integrity and honesty in his everyday life. A source of strength for everyone around him. He was the truly the best kind of family man anyone could ask for. Mick is survived by his wife Susan Children George, (Karen) and Kimberly, (Wesley), Grandkids Ashley, Brittany, Star, Makayla, Alexandra, 2 bonus sons Nathan and Rylan, Brian, Desirea, and Great Grandchildren William, Hazel, Elijah, Ezra and Winter. Sister Jane (Vic), Brothers Pat, (Audra) and Kent. Nieces and Nephews Michelle (Matt), Peggy, Orilla, Patrick, Shane, Heather (Trevor), Amanda (Mike), Ryan, and many great nieces and nephews.
