Janet "Jan" Eggers

Janet "Jan" Eggers, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mentor, and friend, entered the presence of her Savior on July 10, 2026, at the age of 83.

Jan was born Janet Teesdale on February 24, 1943, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to her parents who, along with her six siblings, preceded her in death. In 1964, she moved to Denver, Colorado, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and serving others.

She married Bernie Eggers, and together they raised three children: Troy (Laura), Stacee, and Kamee (Steve). Nothing brought Jan greater joy than her family. She was a devoted grandmother to Luke, Taylor (Garrett), Emilie (Jaxon), Jackson, Dilyn, Wyatt, Chloe, and Evilyn, and she delighted in being "Great-GiGi" to Hayes. She was also eagerly anticipating the arrival of another precious great-granddaughter due this October.

Jan had an extraordinary gift for making people feel loved and welcomed. She had a heart for those who were hurting, lonely, or overlooked. Whether it was inviting someone over for coffee, sharing a meal, opening her home, or simply listening, she had a way of making every person feel seen, valued, and deeply cared for. Her faith in Jesus Christ wasn't simply something she believed - it was the foundation of the way she lived every day.

Over the years, Jan poured herself into countless ministries, investing in the lives of women and families through Bible Study Fellowship, MOPS, and personal mentoring relationships. In the late 1980s, she founded a free Thanksgiving Day meal at Arvada Covenant Church for those who were homeless, alone, or in need of a place to belong. What began as a simple act of love grew into an annual outreach serving hundreds of people with a home-cooked meal, clothing, and the reminder that they were seen and valued. Through the early 2000s, she faithfully organized and funded this ministry, leaving an impact that extended far beyond a single holiday. 

Jan was known as the life of every gathering. She brought laughter, energy, and joy wherever she went. She loved traveling, treasured her many friendships, found beauty in flowers, birds and butterflies, and rarely went anywhere without her well-worn Bible nearby. She had a deep passion for God's Word and an unwavering desire to help others know the hope and love she had found in Christ.

To know Jan was to experience kindness, generosity, and genuine care. She made every person she met feel important, and her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, the family she adored, and the faith she so faithfully shared.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her, but they rejoice in the promise that she is now home with her Lord and Savior.

A Celebration of Jan's Life will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Arvada Covenant Church, 5555 Ward Road, Arvada, Colorado 80002. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in celebrating the remarkable life of a woman whose faith, generosity, and love left an enduring mark on everyone she met. Everyone is welcome to join and asked to wear bright clothing, as Jan loved everything in color!
