Robert George Hill

Robert George Hill passed away unexpectedly on July 13, 2026, in Silverthorne, Colorado, while enjoying a weekend getaway in the mountains.

Bob was born on June 19, 1959, in Summit, New Jersey, to George Raymond Hill and Sophie Suzanne Hill. He spent his early years in New Jersey and Connecticut. He loved camping, fishing, and participating in Boy Scouts. From an early age, Bob was determined and hardworking. He started his own paper route and later began a lawn service after he was able to purchase his own truck.

Bob graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health. He later continued his education, earning a master’s degree in Environmental Management from the University of Denver in 1996.

After college, he moved to Levelland, Texas to work with Amoco as an environmental health and safety professional. While in Levelland, he met his wife of 43 years, Camelia Rae Troutman. They were married on June 4, 1983 in New Home, Texas.

Bob worked for 45 years in the oil and gas industry with Amoco, BP, and Magnolia. He had a passion for the health and safety of others. He was a devoted leader, colleague, and friend.

Bob had a servant’s heart and a passion for helping others. Throughout the years he faithfully served as an elder, usher, and step-in handyman at church. He never met a stranger and could carry on a knowledgeable and heartfelt conversation with all those around him.

Above all, Bob set a godly example for his wife and children, showing his daughters through his own life what it means to be a loving and devoted husband and father. He loved his family deeply and cherished every opportunity to be present in their lives. He made a special effort to attend all of his daughters’ and grandchildren’s activities and events. He took great joy in watching them grow and supporting them in all their pursuits.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George Hill and Sophie Hill, and his older brother, James Hill.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Cami Hill; his two daughters, Lauren Carpenter and her husband, Aaron, and Kimberly Greway and her husband, Tony; his grandchildren, Eli and Thomas Carpenter, and Lucas and Autumn Greway; his sister, Suzanne Hill; and several nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Storyline Church (14605 W. 64th Ave., Arvada, CO 80004). Interment will follow at Golden Cemetery (755 Ulysses St., Golden, CO 80401). All who knew Bob are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to organizations that were meaningful to Bob. Bob valued education. These ministries serve students both at the beginning and end of their educational careers.
