Ruben is most remembered for his kind heart and his gift for making everyone he met feel special.

Ruben Dario Blanco, age 48, of Connecticut and Colorado, passed away on 7-15-2026. Ruben was born on 2-12-1978 in Norwalk, CT, to Vilma Rosa Barraza and Ruben Blanco Sr.

He married Brandon Figliolino on 6-24-2023 in Denver, CO. Through their 10 years together, and 3 married, they built a life full of fun and family, splitting their time between the east coast and the mountains.

Ruben is most remembered for his kind heart and his gift for making everyone he met feel special. He loved chatting on the phone with family and friends, cooking for the people he cared about most, and occasionally suffering — with a smile — through a bike ride with his husband. Ruben was a dedicated public servant who spent 10 years supporting Coloradans through his work at the Department of Labor and Employment. He was endlessly curious, always eager to learn something new about people, nature, and the world.

He was preceded in death by his father and his niece, Elaan Rippe. He is survived by his husband; his mother; his brother, Chris, and sister-in-law, Ingrid; and many, many other loved ones.

A Colorado celebration of life will be held on Friday 7-24-2026 at 11:00 am at the Table Mountain Event Center (16035 Table Mountain Parkway, Golden, CO).

A Connecticut celebration of life will be held on Friday 07/31/26 at 7pm-10pm at The Waterview (215 Roosevelt Drive Rte 34 Monroe, CT 06468)

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to support the family are welcome to send a monetary donation to Ruben's husband via Venmo (@Brandon-figliolino) to help with expenses.
