Sheldon E. "Dusty" Stevens

Sheldon E. "Dusty" Stevens passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at the age of 91. He was surrounded by his wife and family.

Sheldon was born on January 11, 1934, in Williamson, New York. He attended Sodus Central High School and after graduating he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country.  In 1954, he married the love of his life, Barbara. Together, they raised four children. In 1975, they moved their family from Syracuse, New York to Arvada, Colorado.

Dusty was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family deeply and was always there to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered for his kind nature, positive attitude, and his ability to find the good in everyone.

He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, and he spent many years umpiring and refereeing softball, basketball, and flag football—staying active and involved in his community.

Dusty is preceded in death by his parents, George and Theda, and his brother, Gary. He is survived by his sister, Roxy Force.

He is also survived by his wife of 71 years, Barbara, and his children: Eric (wife Pat), Paul, Nancy (husband Scott), and Carol (husband Rick). He leaves behind seven grandchildren: Keith, Spencer (wife Jessica), Parker, Morgan (husband Jacob), Mackenzie (husband Brian), Taylor, and Max; and two great-grandchildren, Raegan and Bo.

Services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on April 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
