Chizuko Ennis

Chizuko Ennis of Watkins, Colorado left her family and friends for her eternal life in Heaven on April 29, 2026, after 93 years with us. Born in Tokyo, Japan, the daughter of the late Taro and Makino Suzuki, she graduated from Mita Koto Gakko in 1951. Chizuko met and married her husband of 56 years, Paul Ennis in Tokyo, Japan. Courtesy of the United States Air Force, Chizuko and Paul, with their growing family moved often. Assignments included Florida, Colorado, Wyoming, Tokyo, Texas, California, New Hampshire, Hawaii, North Dakota, and Japan. Chizuko will be remembered for her love of Japanese classical dance, involvement in the Denver area Japanese American community and voracious appetite for knowledge. 

Preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents, and brothers Motoyuki and Takao. She is survived by her sister Hiroko, children Patrick Ennis, David Ennis (Lisa), Steven Ennis (Betty), and Marilyn Nelson; grandchildren Duane Ennis (Lindsey), Jackie Escasa (Mike), David Nelson, Madison Ennis, and Mia Ennis; great grandchildren Devan Ennis, Daryl Ennis, Vera Ennis, Kai Escasa, and Naomi Escasa.
