Sheila Heer
October 18, 1947 — May 22, 2026
Born on October 18,1947 in Minot ND Sheila and her husband of 57 years, Bob, moved to Colorado in 1972 to raise their family of three daughters. Sheila was a skilled painter, hairstylist, gifted seamstress and accomplished lefse artist. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family on holidays, but nothing brought her more joy than working alongside Bob in the many gardens they created at their various homes over the years. She especially liked fussing over the tomato plants and flowers, her dahlias in particular. Sheila enjoyed going to estate sales, spending time in Black Hawk, reading, and being on social media to connect with long-distance friends and family.
Together, Sheila and Bob traveled extensively throughout Europe with Moscow, Russia being their temporary homebase. Upon returning home, Sheila was greeted by the births of her six grandsons: Hunter, Jake, Maxwell, Hayden, Thomas and Mitchell. The boys would have much fun with Nana building sand castles, riding the Gator and just being together.
Sheila is survived by her husband Bob, three daughters Leta (Ron) Lewis, Kristen (Ed) Kolczynski, Kara Heer, and six grandsons. Those who know Sheila will remember her for her sense of humor, generosity and ability to connect with people.
Sheila passed away peacefully at the family home surrounded by family and friends on May 22, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 8th at Aspen Mortuary followed by internment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. A reception will follow the service at the family home on Zang Street where they have resided since 1989. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Sheila will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
