Clyde Edward Morse

Clyde Edward Morse, Jr., age 81, of Meadowlands, MN, passed away on Saturday, April18, 2026, at the Pillars of Hermantown in Hermantown, MN.

Clyde was born on January 13, 1945, in Flint, MI, the son of the late Clyde and Helen (Johanek) Morse. As a young child the family moved to Meadowlands, MN, where Clyde lived for the rest of his life. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Meadowlands High School. He was very active in sports and his all-time scoring record in basketball was not tied until just recently. After graduation, he was the first employee hired at Schneiderman’s Furniture in Elmer, MN, for over 40 years until his retirement. He also served in the National Guard for a number of years as a cook. On October 20, 1973, he was married to June Makela in Meadowlands, MN. They made their home in Meadowlands and raised their 3 children. After his parent’s passed Clyde took over the family farm and farmed and raised cattle. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and he and June spent many anniversaries pheasant hunting in Iowa. He also remained active in sports and was a member of the Twins Bar Touch Football team that went to the World Tournament in 1982. He was also his grandchildren’s biggest fan after his retirement.

Clyde is survived by his sons, Scott (Melissa) Morse and Derek (Amber) Morse; daughter, Stacy (Jay) Stevens; grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Madelyn, Abbygayle, Jacob, Parker, Benjamin, Grant, and Paige; step-grandchildren, Chase and Hanna; sisters, Kathy (Randy) Anderson and Barbara Griswold; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Kaylyn Morse, Judith (Michael) Simons, Debbie (Brent) Donaldson, Donna (David) Hill, and James McMillan; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, June; parents, Clyde and Helen Morse; brother, Philip Morse; sister, Joanne McMillian; in-laws, Edwin and Eileen Makela; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Allan Makela and Fred Griswold.

Visitation: Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at First Lutheran Church in Meadowlands, MN.

Memorial Service: Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 3:00 pm with a visitation 1 hour before the service, at First Lutheran Church in Meadowlands, MN.
