Gwen Colene Young

Gwen Colene (Kamppi) Young, age 65, of Moose Lake, MN, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Interfaith Care Center in Carlton, MN.

Gwen Kamppi was born on January 18, 1961, in Sandstone, MN, the daughter of the late Harold and Jean (Kjarum) Kamppi. She was raised in Moose Lake and graduated from Moose Lake High School.

Gwen was a devoted mother raising her 4 children. She went to all of their events and was always the loudest person cheering in the bleachers. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed days at the lake, spending time with friends, and most of all her family.

Gwen is survived by her 4 children, Jonathan (Sarah) Kamppi, Matthew (Sarah) Young, Stacy Young, and BJ (Hannah) Young; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer, Calvin, Nora, Thomas, Stella-Jean, and Chasin; and sister, Idell (Paul) Ward; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Brenda Jean Kamppi.

Visitation: 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Family Worship Church in Moose Lake, MN.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Family Worship Church in Moose Lake, MN.

Inurnment: 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Moose Lake, MN.
